Part 3: Inter-District Transfer
The Dual Immersion Academy of Salinas (DIAS) is a public magnet school offering unique programs not available or impacted in other schools. DIAS relies on student transfers from within and outside the Salinas City Elementary School District (SCESD).
Families should start the inter or intra-district application process by December of the year before attending DIAS. SCESD accepts applications in January for the fall. Given the high demand, it's advisable to join the waitlist and secure release from your home school or district as soon as possible. For more details and enrollment forms, visit our school office.
INTRA-DISTRICT TRANSFERS: Students within SCESD do not need to submit a transfer form to apply for DIAS.
INTER-DISTRICT TRANSFERS: Students outside SCESD need approval for an inter-district transfer, stating DIAS offers a program not available in their district. Some districts require formal registration with the home school and principal approval before submitting the transfer request in January. Check with your district for specifics and regularly follow up on the transfer status.
More Information
IMPORTANT: Transfers must be renewed annually with both the home district and SCESD.
